The 30 Minute Balloon Arch

While I am not sure why my 30-minute balloon arch has received so much criticism on Instagram, I will always love doing simple arches to add a little something to a backdrop or party. For me, I don’t want to spend tons of time making them, or spend the money on hiring a professional on something just to pop them a few hours later - especially for a kids birthday or something very simple where my budget is small but I want a BIG impact! DO NOT LET PEOPLE MAKE YOU FEEL BAD FOR DOING A SIMPLE ARCH!

Here are the tools I used:

  • Balloon Pump - get this one, it will save soooo much time!

  • Balloons - here are the ones I used in my video.

  • Fishing Line - Personally, I dont like glue dots or balloon tape, but do what works for you

  • Elastic Hair Ties - Ahh the pushback I received using these. For me, I hate tying balloons and elastic hair ties are easier on my hands (plus, they are only $4) but it sounds like a lot of people just tie the balloons together, but I have never tried that - do what works for you!

FYI it looks like the cost of my balloons I used seem to have gone up from $9, but you can find balloon sets around $5-$10 on Amazon - don’t be fooled by the $20-$30 postings with pretty pictures. A balloon for a simple arch is all the same - just choose one with various sizes and you’re good to go!

Making it is simple:

Just blow up the balloons and tie them in pairs using the elastic bands.

Then wrap the fishing line around the sets of balloons and that is it - just try to mix in different sizes and alternate colors.

This arch in particular took me 30 minutes to make, while it is not anything super fancy, it is exactly what I wanted and fit within my time and budget constraint.

Let me know if you have any questions!

xo,

Jackie
